Sewer and outside drain repair

When a drain blocks for the third time, the problem is not what you are putting down it. We survey the run, show you the footage and fix the pipe.

Survey first, quote second

Nobody should be quoting to dig up your garden without showing you why. Every drain repair we do starts with a camera run and a recording you keep, with the defect located and depth-marked from the surface.

What we repair

  • Collapsed and cracked clay pipe — very common in pre-1970s Dublin housing
  • Root ingress at joints, cut out and lined so it does not simply grow back
  • Displaced or dropped joints causing standing water and repeat blockages
  • Broken gullies, back-inlet gullies and rodding eyes
  • Manhole and chamber rebuilds, and cover replacement

No-dig repairs where possible

Patch lining and full-length relining let us repair a damaged section from inside the pipe — no excavation, no re-laying a driveway, and usually a day rather than a week. It is not right for every defect: a fully collapsed run still has to come up. We will tell you which one you have got.

Who owns the drain?

In most Irish properties you are responsible for the drainage inside your boundary, and Uisce Éireann takes over at the connection to the public sewer. If our survey shows the defect is on the public side, we will tell you and help you report it rather than quoting you for work that is not yours to pay for.

Common questions

Questions we get asked a lot

How long does a drain survey take?

Usually 60 to 90 minutes for a domestic property, and you get the footage and a written report the same day.

Do I need a survey before buying a house?

On any property over about forty years old with mature trees nearby, it is one of the cheapest pieces of due diligence you can buy.

Will you need to dig up the garden?

Often not. Around two-thirds of the defects we find can be repaired by lining from an existing access point.

What about roots from a neighbour’s tree?

We can cut and line the affected section so it stops recurring. Whether the tree owner has any liability is a legal question, and the survey report gives you the evidence either way.
