How it started

Northgate began because our founder spent a decade working for other people and got tired of the same three complaints from customers: nobody turned up when they said they would, nobody explained what the problem was, and the invoice never matched the estimate.

So the company was built around fixing those three things first and the plumbing second. Fifteen years on, we are a team of eleven working out of a yard in Ballymount, and those are still the things we are judged on.

Turn up when you said you would

An arrival window is a promise, not an aspiration. If we are running late you get a phone call before the window closes, not an apology afterwards.

Explain it in plain language

You should understand what is wrong, what your options are, and what each one costs before you agree to anything. If a repair is a short-term fix, we will say so rather than let you find out in six months.

Quote before you start

Fixed price where the job allows it, a clear hourly rate and an honest estimate where it does not. If we open something up and it turns out to be worse than expected, work stops and we talk to you before it restarts.

Leave it as you found it

Sheets down, boots covered, waste taken away and the area cleaned before we go. It is a low bar that a surprising number of trades limbo under.
